June's mail

I was about to forget to post my June stats! Hopefully I remembered to do it on time, so here we go for the third post of the day (I can't remember of one day when I blogged so much! :D )

Here are all the mail received in June:

15 letters :) 0.5 letters per day, or a letter every two days. Not bad. Good mail month should I even say!

Average distance traveled: 3176.53 km
Longest distance traveled: 8220 km from Plano, Texas, USA
Shortest distance traveled: 485 km from Blaustein, Germany

Wishing you tons of nice mail in July! :3

Liebster Blog award

I've received my first blog award! Thank you Sabrina for tagging me!

What's this thing?
The Liebster Blog Award is given to upcoming bloggers who have 200 followers or less.
The word Liebster is German and means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome.

1. Each person must post 11 random facts about themselves
2. Answer 11 questions the tagger has given you and give 11 questions for the people you tagged
3. Choose 11 people and link them in your post
4. Tell them you've tagged them. Remember, no tag backs!

11 random facts about Tári:
#1 Biologically, I'm 19 years old. For my mother, I'm still 10. For my friends, I'm already 35. And for me I'm... well, sometimes 10, sometimes 35, but rarely 19.

#2 I'm afraid of striking matches. Why? Because... well, because. :D

#3 Staying in the "fear" topic, I fear spiders to death. Even the smallest ones.

#4 Tea is my drug. I need my daily fix.

#5 I like the smell of coffee, but not the taste.

#6 I have a huge wish to visit Scandinavia (here I also include Iceland and Finland although they aren't exactly Scandinavian) one day.

#7 I'm right handed, but I'm only able to peel oranges and cut meat with the left hand. Weird, eh?

#8 One of my favourite books is the French dictionary. When I'm bored, I open it and learn new words. The longer, and the more complicated, the better. And then I try to use them when I'm speaking.

#9 I love maths. Believe me, it's great fun to solve equations! :D

#10 I guess I'm the only person who's super happy when the thermometer says -10°C. I looove Winter and cold weather!

#11 I'm always worried I might loose my keys so I'm constantly checking if they're still in my bag. Which is stupid, because they're not going to jump out of it.

Now on to Sabrina's questions:
1. What inspired you to blog the way you do?
I've been reading snail mail related blogs for quite a while before starting mine. So I got my inspiration from them!

2. What is your favorite post you published?
Hmmm... My monthly stat-post I'd say (I need to do the June one by the way :) )

3. What do you see right now?
My electric piano, right in front of me.

4. What is your best feature/characteristic?
I'm a good listener, I think

5. You are offered a super power. Which one do you choose?
I can be invisible whenever I wish :)

6. What's one thing you see every day?
My cup of tea <3

7. Do you have any regrets?
Oh yes. I wish I'd been less shy in my younger years. I was so damn boring! (well, I'm still a bit, but compared to how I was before it's nothing)

8. Which is your favorite blog?
I have several... You should just check my blogroll on the right :)

9. If you could do one thing without suffering the consequences, what would you do?
I'd pack my bags and settle to Lofoten Islands, Northern Norway

10. What is your favorite TV show?
None. I don't watch TV that much.

11. What are your favorite kind of clothes?!
Comfy clothes. Jeans and T shirts are the best!

Well, now I'm going to cheat a bit because I'm not going to tag anyone. Not that I don't want, but I honestly don't know who to tag (several of the bloggers I like already got the award from someone else, so...) and also I'm not sure I could find 11 interesting questions to ask D: Sorry!

Got mail again!

I've only be away for one week but there were still 4 letters waiting for me in the mailbox this morning! Nice! I always miss my mailbox when I can't check it everyday but I have to admit it's really great to find a bunch of colourful envelopes in the mailbox. And then spending hours reading them on the couch, with a cup of tea (or several). Yes, I always read my letters with a cup of tea, even today despite the 36°C outside and 32°C inside.

Anyways, I'm not going to make this post a complaint about the weather (though I really feel like complaining when it's so hot!)
Here are the letters I found today :)

First one is from Simona from Lithuania, a new penpal I met through Postcrossing forums:

Second is from Jennifer, UK. I liked the little birds on her writing paper! :)

Then, much loveliness from Andra, Romania. She sent me a large bunch of Dutch tea! How awesome! Thank you a million times, dear! (I should search for something you'd like, too ;) )

And, last but not least, another letter from Lithuania, but from an "old" pal this time, Almante. I'm really glad her letter arrived without any problems because lately we got problems with letters to each other. Her last letter to me arrived really damaged, and mine to her took so unusually long to arrive that we both were starting to think it had got lost. But finally, all is well, that ends well :)
She also sent me a tea and a leaflet written in an approximate French (but still understandable ^^)

Aaaand~ there was a fifth envelope in my mailbox as well. A stamp order which content I will show on an other post later today, or tomorrow. So, stay tuned!

I'm gonna be super busy!

Indeed, I will be :) With all the letters I got this week, I'll have amazing writing times next week! I also got 3 new letters to add to the 8 ones I found in my mailbox on Tuesday.

Yesterday came 2 letters.
The first is from a new penpal, Delaney from the USA:
Delaney is 37 years old and it's the first time there's such a big age difference between a penpal and me. But it'll be very interesting to see what our friendship will turn into! I'm so looking forward to getting to know her better!

Second letter is from Ramona in Germany:

And today I got a letter too! From another new American penpal, Yasmeen. Very pink themed letter!
And I just love the "Ratatouille" stamp she used!

I just finished to clean the whole room this morning, so finally I'm allowed to write! I was preventing myself to write a single word till I wasn't done with the cleaning. I need to have such motivation, because, well, who over here like to do the cleaning??

And here's another thing that will keep me busy on the days to come: last Thursday I went to the shop center and bought a new book! Well, I wasn't intending to buy any books, I went to the shop center first to buy clothes, but, as always when I go shopping, I stopped by the bookshop and couldn't help myself buying this:
It's Camilla Läckberg's new book "The drowning" (In French it's called "La sirène" -The mermaid). I didn't know it has finally been released in French, though I was so impatiently looking forward to it! I still don't understand how I missed it! Anyways, I HAD to buy it!
(and just saying: that's the only thing I bought. I didn't even find the clothes I was looking for ^^)

Mail, mail, mail! :D

Hello folks!
These last days have been totally empty regarding mail, I had no letter left to reply and no incoming mail either as I was away from my mailbox. Sad, eh?
Anyways. Today I was finally back home after staying at my mom's for a little over two weeks, so I finally checked the mail and...
Ooooh.... (my reaction when finding all these letters in my maibox ;) )
8 letters! I didn't expect so many :)

3 hours and a half and 6 cups of tea (yes, six!) later, I'm finally done with reading them all, and I can upload the pictures :)

The first is from Louise in the UK. Actually I was already expecting it the last time I checked my mailbox (a little over two weeks ago), so I was a little afraid it has got lost, but no, here it is :)
Lovely Winnie the Pooh stationery!

Second is from Laura, a new penpal from the USA I met on Postcrossing forum. Her envelope is really nice :)
The back is lovely as well :) And she has the same deco-tape as I have! :D
And the letter, written on Paris-themed stationery :) Along with two postcards from California :)

Then comes another letter from the USA:
Teresa has the smallest handwriting I've ever seen (even smaller than mine, haha!) But I love when my pals have small handwriting, because even few pages from them are long letters. Teresa wrote only 3 A5 pages, but it actually stands for the double!

A third letter coming from the USA, this time from Shelby :) I love the envelope, so funny! I assume it has been made from a cereal pack (!)
And back:
And the letter inside :) She made her pages look like playing cards!

Next one is a pink themed letter from Jenny in the Netherlands:
She includes a Belgian chocolate as well as a typical Dutch tea :)

This white envie is from Tanja in Germany :)
She used really nice writing paper, I especially like the last page, with the cat :3 And she enclosed 3 tea bags!

Another white envie that comes from France!
Inside was a letter from Ksenia, who's not from France but from Ukraine ;) She was on a trip in Lille so that's why her letter has been sent from France :)
This is the longest letter I received over these eight ones (10 pages). And she also included postcards from Belgium and France

Last but not least, a letter from the Norwegian Marita. I love the envelope, it looks so... Norwegian! :D Sadly the paper wasn't strong enough and the bottom right corner got a little ripped off during the journey :(
And this lovely Norwegian envie was full of loveliness! Pictures of a Viking festival, a necklace and a bracelet. And a nice letter of course!
And Marita showed me how to write my name in the old runer alphabet ;)

So now, I just have to write! Let's get the party started! ;)

Tári did some mail art!

I somehow completely forgot to post it earlier: these letters have been sent since Tuesday already! Anyway, better late than never! So I'm showing you here my new mail art.

I was a bit out of ideas for the designs, so they're a little repetitive (flowers, again and again XD), yet I hope the receivers will enjoy them anyways!

Let's look at them one by one!

To Slovenia:

To Estonia:

To United Kingdom:

To Romania:

To England:

To Finland:

How did I make these envelopes? Well, it was pretty easy: I painted both sides of the envelope, and then, once the paint is dry, I glued the address label and painted some little decorations on the front side. And that's all! :)

Tell me, how much do you like them? ;)

A promise is a promise

Hey folks~!
I promised you some weeks ago that I'll show you my calligraphy skills as soon as I'd be satisfied enough with them, so, it's now time to keep this promise.
I've been trying to improve my calligraphy for some weeks, and at the beginning I was just trying to make lines of a, b, c, d... which was, to tell the truth, completely boring and not motivating at all. So, I decided to do differently and write one of my favourite quotes instead: "when there's a will there's a way".

Here's the template, how my letters should look like:

And now, here's my piece of art!

I know it could be A LOT better, but I think it's not that bad for a beginner, what do you think?

Off-topic: I'm so excited because I'm going to send a letter to Iceland! I hope I'll get a reply because till now I've always had bad luck with Icelandic pals :/ So wish me luck!
The letter isn't done yet, but the envelope is already designed. I tried to do some mail art, Laufey is into art as well so it'd be great to turn our penpalship into a mail art exchange!

That's all for today! Have a nice week end, followers!
